Closing Remarks Laurie Williams
Background: LaPierre Lane Riverway is the first completed spur of the Saranac River Greenway Trail. It is an important piece of the Clinton County and Town of Plattsburgh Lake Champlain and Saranac River Waterfront Revitalization plan. The project also supports the University of VT Health Network at CVPH and the Clinton County Health Departments Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Part of the CHIP plans mission is to provide permanent and sustainable opportunities to reduce chronic disease among our residents that include physical activity for all ages and abilities.
Every effort was made to provide nontraditional physical activity opportunities for all ages and abilities. The project also successfully merged the environmental attributes of a wetlands eco-system with public use. The Town of Plattsburgh will assume stewardship of this public/private partnership for future generations to enjoy and value. |

missionaries teach sewing in Peru
Oct. 02, 2018 7:30 a.m.
Who is Pam Damour? Known as the "Decorating Diva" Pam learned early in life, while spending time on her grandparents’ farm, that making something from "scratch" was not only a way of life but it was the better way of doing things. Holding on to those values she went from farm to fabric and has had a very successful 35+ year career as an interior designer and sewing professional. Pam offers professional drapery workroom training to the trade and consumers. As a seasoned career speaker, she travels internationally teaching her specialty techniques that have brought her years of continued business as the "Couture of Home Dec Sewing". She is the author of Pillow Talk, Cheaper by the Dozen, Got Quilts?, The Tangled Home, Hold Everything, Power Serge and producer of 12 Home Dec DVDs. She has designed many patterns, rulers, scissors and other sewing related notions. An interior designer by profession and a quilter by passion, Pam lives on the shore of Lake Champlain in a log home, nestled at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains, where she teaches sewing retreats. Her down to earth nature, never forgetting her roots, combined with her professionalism creates a warm and creative experience. For more information about Pam, go to www.pamdamour.com or call 518-297-2699. |

Rotary Youth Exchange is actively recruiting students for both Short term an Long term exchanges for summer 2019 and the 2019-2020 school year.
We are also looking for at least one more host family for our Brazilian student in the Peru School District beginning late December/early January.
We are holding an info night this evening at 6 pm at the Clinton County Free Library. Attendance can count as a makeup. Our two current exchange students from Brazil and Japan will speak as well as Sunrise Rotary's returned student who spent a school year in Denmark.

Adirondack Wildlife Refuge
Nov. 13, 2018
The Wildlife Refuge is a 50-acre rehabilitation center on the western branch of the Ausable River. There is a one-mile educational nature trail; animal enclosures and a pet timber wolf. Run by Wendy and Steve Hall, the Halls are passionate about the environment and always willing to explain how plants and animals play a vital role in nature. Wendy holds Federal and State licenses in wildlife rehabilitation and education. The Wildlife Refuge continues to educate the public through presentations at schools and other organizations. There is usually an animal on site that has been brought to them to (at best) return to its natural environment. At the worse, they heal and use the injured animal during public educational demonstrations. |
