🌟 Because Amelia Smiled – A Kindness Activity with Sunrise Rotary 🌟
Sunrise Rotary volunteers Wanda, Genelle, Jim, Tom, and Adam recently shared the book Because Amelia Smiled by David Ezra Stein with local children. The story shows how one small act of kindness — a simple smile — can travel around the world and inspire more good deeds.
After the read-aloud, the children created a colorful Kindness Chain, writing or drawing their own ideas for kind actions on paper strips. Linked together with special Rotary “kindness” strips, the chain became a powerful symbol of how small acts connect to make something bigger and more beautiful.
Wanda and Genelle reminded the kids that kindness is contagious, small actions are powerful, and we are all connected. The event ended with a big smile and a challenge: to go out and spread kindness every day! 💛
