President’s Corner – February 2026
Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month
February invites us to reflect on Rotary’s commitment to peace—not only as a global goal, but as a local responsibility.
Here in Plattsburgh and across the North Country, peacebuilding shows up in everyday ways: creating welcoming spaces, strengthening relationships, supporting youth and families, and addressing community needs with care and collaboration. Peace is not passive—it is built through connection, understanding, and intentional service.
As members of Rotary International, we are part of a worldwide effort to prevent conflict by addressing its roots—disconnection, inequity, and unmet needs. While our work is grounded locally, it contributes to a global culture of cooperation and respect.
This month, I encourage us to reflect on how our projects, partnerships, and leadership help create a safer, more connected community. Every conversation, every act of service, and every relationship we build moves us closer to lasting peace.
Thank you for the commitment and care you bring to our club and our community. Together, we are helping build peace—right here at home.
Yours in Service,
Wanda J. Carroll, President
Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club
