Mayor's Cup Festival at the City Beach

Family Fun Festival at the City Beach added to Mayor's Cup Celebration this year!

Many brand new features for the Mayor's Cup Celebration this year are being  planned as a Family Fun Festival at the City Beach, hosted by Plattsburgh's Sunrise Rotary Club. On July 10th, the beach will be open to the public including free parking for everyone.
The day's activities will include:
  • Live Music — 12 Noon Start Damaged Goods, a band with members who have played together for years, will provide the live entertainment. These guys play without a net. A special blend of styles and tastes, delivered by gentlemen with mutual respect, both musically and personally.
  • Food Trucks — A variety of food trucks will be available on an area adjacent to the beach for family dining treats.
  • Kids Corner — Mountain Lake PBS will have a special place for the kids to amuse themselves.
  • Kayak Tour— 8 am Start Come paddle with the Town of Plattsburgh’s Dynamic Duo, Mel & Erin!  We will launch our kayaks from the City Beach and head towards Scomotion Creek where we’ll see turtles, ducks, herons, and maybe some otters and beavers.  Local birding expert, Nancy Olsen, will also join us to talk about the many different bird species along the creek.  The paddle will be from  8:00-10:00am and will launch from the Beachfront.  We will have several kayaks available to use for adults only on a first come, first served basis.  We also encourage those with their own kayaks to join us too.  To register for the paddle, call the Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department at 518.562.6860.
