PRESIDENT'S CORNER
A Message from Outgoing President Wanda Carroll
As my year as President of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a year filled with service, friendship, collaboration, and community impact.
When I began this journey, Rotary International challenged us to "Unite for Good." Throughout the past year, I have witnessed our members bring that theme to life in remarkable ways. Together, we strengthened our club, expanded community partnerships, supported local initiatives, advanced literacy efforts, invested in leadership development, and continued our commitment to serving others both locally and internationally.
What has impressed me most, however, is not any single project or event. It is the people behind the work.
Rotary's strength has never been found in meetings, committees, or fundraisers alone. It is found in individuals who choose to show up, contribute their talents, share their ideas, and work together to make a difference. Throughout this year, I have been continually inspired by the generosity, dedication, and compassion of our members.
One of the greatest lessons I learned as President is that leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about bringing good people together around a common purpose and creating opportunities for them to succeed. I have had the privilege of witnessing that success over and over again.
I am incredibly grateful to our Board of Directors, committee chairs, volunteers, community partners, and every member who contributed to our accomplishments this year. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and your commitment to Service Above Self.
While my term as President is ending, my commitment to Sunrise Rotary certainly is not. I remain excited about the future of our club and the opportunities that lie ahead.
I am especially pleased to welcome Michael Pratt as our incoming President. Michael brings enthusiasm, leadership, and a deep commitment to Rotary's values. I know he will guide our club with integrity and vision as we continue serving our community together.
To our members, friends, supporters, and community partners—thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your President.
The work of Rotary never truly ends. Each year simply becomes another chapter in a much larger story of service, fellowship, and positive change.
I look forward to continuing that story alongside all of you.
